A person died after a police officer shot him in Bujumbura

This morning, June 22, 2022, a police officer shot him at close range while he was waiting to be served in fuel, and he died immediately.

The queue of people looking for fuel was very long. A man found himself in front of a microfinance “Le haugue Family Microfinance Umuryango” in the center of Bujumbura, the economic capital city of Burundi, was shot by a policeman and died on the spot.

The victim was accused of blocking the access road to the said microfinance.

Note that the fuel shortage has been permanent since the suspension of all foreign currency exchange offices in February 2020 and that the situation is worsened by the war in Ukraine.

Burundi is still waiting for Russia’s promise to deal with it.
